 to me, it still doesn't seem to explain what -tag is.
 something like the following?

 	-tag specifies an address associated to the route.
 	how the address is used is specific to the address family of
 	the destination and the interface used to forward the packet. (-ifp)

also, I agree, it's not clear and the reference (mpls(4)) doesn't explain
what the tags are either.
