NetBSD haggis 5.99.55 NetBSD 5.99.55 (GENERIC) #3: Tue Jul 19 15:09:03 EEST 2011  root@haggis:/usr/obj/sys/arch/i386/compile/GENERIC i386
>Description:
-current kernels since somewhere between June 10th and July 11th panic right after detecting my
SCSI CD-ROM drive - assertion in sys/kern/kern_synch.c, line 192. Boots just fine when there is
a CD in the drive or the drive tray is open.

The machine is an i386 (Intel mobo, Pentium III). The SCSI system consists of two qla104x cards,
single-ended (1040) and differential (1041). The SE card has two (ancient) SCSI hard drives and a Plextor CD-ROM, differential is connected to a SCSI RAID box.

Panic backtrace:
breakpoint(), panic(), kern_assert(), ltsleep(),
isp_mbox_wait_complete(), isp_mboxcmd(), isp_spi_update(), isp_start(),
isprequest(),
scsipi_run_queue(), scsipi_periph_timed_thaw(),
callout_softclock(), softint_dispatch()

Full dmesg from a successful bootup:
