Code inspection:  distrib/utils/sysinst/upgrade.c handles the X symlink by assuming it lives in /usr/X11R6.  Since (I think) 5.0 or 5.1, X lives in /usr/X11R7

Try to use sysinst's "upgrade" feature with X.
