The manual page exports(5) advertizes to use
/foo somehosts
/foo someotherhosts -maproot=root
However, when I try to do this I get this error:
Feb 15 15:49:37 theory mountd[13651]: "/foo -maproot", line NN: Can'
t change attributes for /foo to someotherhosts: Operation not permitted
>How-To-Repeat:
/etc/rc.d/mountd restart or
/etc/rc.d/mountd reload
>Fix:
A workaround for us would be to repair the SunOS emulation, so that
we could run Solaris TSM on the server, instead of Linux TSM on a
designated client. But that's a different story...

exports(5) actually advertises
/foo somehosts
/foo -maproot=root someotherhosts
-- maybe that makes a difference?

No...
whatever the order of the two lines, or whatever the order of
-maproot=root and hostname on the line with maproot is, and
wheter I use reload or restart, I get the same error message.

Ah well - while I am well aware of the voodoo-like l&f of nfs exports, it
was worth a try. ;)
