When trying to install gpt on a disk that has been formatted with an Apple, it fails. It will always complain about the device being busy when trying to create a filesystem, because you have still wedges underlying.
Killing them with dkctl, installation finishes.
>How-To-Repeat:
Put a gpt and some partitions on a disk, try installing NetBSD.
>Fix:
Perhaps delete all wedges present on a disk prior to partitioning? The mbr compatibility stuff won't be touched by that anyway, and existing gpt will be overwritten.

No! Don't do that!
Proper fix is to add a GPT partition editor (see the suggested GSoC project).

I wonder if there will ever be gpt for the current sysinst.
But without that, there should at least be a warning somewhere how to disab=
le
that.

Yes, as long as we don't have a builtin gpt editor, I'm fine with code
detecting it and offering to zero it via dd for now (or convert it, if
that can be tested well enough).
Besides, isn't it enough in this case to have sysinst unconfigure the
auto-configured wedges via dkctl?

that was my initial proposal (perhaps I wasn't clear about that) - destroyi=
ng
the wedge.
Though I'm not enough into gpt to really decide about that. I think gpt is =
an
extension to mbr, so we could end up having a gpt which has overlapping
partitions, don't we?
