I installed NETBSD 5.1 and 6.0_BETA. All have the same problem:

The command

$ X -configure

is working without problems. A check with

$ X -config xorg.conf.new

in 5.1 or

$ X

in 6.0_BETA is working to. It can be switched to all terminals and the 
log-in-procedure works also without problems. 

( $ X -config xorg.conf.new 

found no screens. But I think this is an other problem.)

But if I start e.g. xterm, there is no input possible. The 
cursor could still be moved. This happens also with xcalc, 
but not e.g. with xclock.
Remote-log-in is also working. I can exit X with

$ kill -9 pid

but the screen remains in the graphic mode and I can't 
operate with the keyboard (even blind). But remote-log-in 
is working the same.

Changes in the xorg.conf.new for driver or keyboard didn't 
make progresses.

 You need to build a version of X with DBG=-g, log in via ssh and attach gdb
 to Xorg - that should show the problem pretty easily.

 I try to build Xorg with

 $ make DBG=-g

 I get the warning message the header file <time.h> isn't included in
 "callback.c". I attached the line in the file. Make works fine but it
 wasn't the solution of my problem.

 Now I start Xorg with gdb.

 There seem to be two problems: the NV driver has a bug with XAA,
 now tracked in PR xsrc/47622.

 Additionally the autoconfigure mechanism creates bogus config files
 (wrong pci bus number), and it needs manual intervention to create "partial"
 config files.
