Please give us some hints: which installation CD are you trying to boot?
From piixide I'd guess it is probably either i386 or amd64.
On which hardware are you trying to boot it?
Most helpfull would be the full kernel boot messages (like the dmesg
command prints), but this is slighly difficult to collect
Assuming i386/amd64 is correct: does your bios offer an AHCI mode for your
disks?

Hi,
As you guessed it was i386. The following image was used :
http://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/NetBSD-6.1_RC1/iso/NetBSD-6.1_RC1-i386.iso
Yes, It does support ACHI mode.
I have Asrock H61M-DGS motherboard with Intel integrated HD Graphics. for
further info:

Using Sony Optiarc DVD RW AD-7240S
Eager to provide any further information.
Thanking you,

Hi,
An Update to bug 47592
On changing the SATA controller in BIOS from IDE to ACHI (mode with NCQ
fuction), cd boots fine.
But just before the installation screen a warning message is displayed
saying:
waring no /dev/console
Installation screen: This is a tool designed ......select a,b,c,
..........Pg Up Pg Down....
But keyboard locks - unable to operate the Keyboard
Thanking you,
