ange-ftp (and tramp) hang before asking for credentials
waiting watch is shown
verified on amd64 and i386 6.0.1
emacs 23.4nb , -nw mode:
ange-ftp (and tramp) hang before asking for credentials
emacs-20.7nb16:
ange-ftp asks for credentials, but seems to hang afterwards
shell-mode never shows real output; sometimes file autocompletion
is shown.
>How-To-Repeat:
emacs /ftp@ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/.message
>Fix:
The suspcion is that this is because emacs still relies on the
old-stlye pty device nodes, as desccribed in PR#47621, which
was closed because it is a duplicate of this PR. The workaround
given there can be tested to verify that this is indeed the same
problem.
