After a fresh full installation of 6.1.2 + pkgsrc, /usr/pkgsrc, as untar'ed by sysinst, has uid=600 and gid=125, both of which do not exist:
# ls -ld /usr/pkgsrc
drwxrwxr-x 52 600 125 1024 Nov 2 03:46 /usr/pkgsrc

Sorry, I seem to have replied to the wrong address before.

A USB Key. I wrote ``NetBSD-6.1.2-amd64-install.img.gz'' (md5:
c1ed1a0d98dace1ac18748827c37f40f) to it, booted and installed from
there.
(The pkgsrc tarball, however, was downloaded by sysinst via ftp, in case
that matters)
