External HDMI (HDMI1 in xrandr output) always "disconnected".
My machine is Vaio Pro 11,
it has Intel Haswell-ULT Integrated Graphic Controller.

# By the way, Option "NoAccel" in xorg.conf is needed.
# Without NoAccel, X causes kernel panic.

Subject: re: kern/49431: External HDMI does not detect plugging
Date: Fri, 09 Jan 2015 20:14:51 +1100

 i had seen this problem a couple of months ago, and finally tried testing
 again to see what happens.

 things are significantly worse now :-(

 it still fails to detect hdmi when plugged in after boot, that problem
 as originally reported remains. however, if i have hdmi plugged in at
 boot time, my laptop appears to crash or hang when the X server starts
 (it's not clear to me yet.) the laptop keyboard appears to have no
 response, and i have to hold the power button down.

 this is a sandy bridge i3 laptop, intel device ID of 0x0106 for the GPU.

 i just tested this on my sandy bridge laptop with the latest
 fixes and hdmi seems to work for me now. at least, i was able
 to plug in, xrandr --auto turned it on, i could unplug and replug
 and have it rework, and when i let dpms go on, it didn't crash.

 so all the hdmi problems i've seen on my sandy bridge laptop are
 no longer present!

 Hi,

 Very recent NetBSD/amd64 current enables my Vaio Pro 11's external
 HDMI display connection partially.
 So direct HDMI connection becomes "connected" in xrandr command,
 but my external LCD cannot get signal.
 And when genuine HDMI to VGA converter is used, my external LCD can
 display NetBSD desktop.

 I use following xrandr command.

 $ xrandr --output eDP1 --output HDMI1 --mode 1920x1080 --same-as eDP1

 Here is direct HDMI output of xrandr command.

 $ xrandr
