This is rather curious. Unless the libnbcompat configure script has
changed a lot in the past year (unlikely) that broken value has to
have been passed to it on the command line with --host=, and that in
turn seems to mean that MACHINE_GNU_PLATFORM was wrong.
Not sure why that would be, but maybe that's helpful...

I don't have time unfortunately to field this or a Tru64 system.
We should make a decision about Tru64 support, dedicate someone to it and
get these fixed (or remove support).
