 simh seems to be broken in pkgsrc, it does not boot my old images either
 (which used to work).

 I can boot 8.0. I suspect the problem is jemalloc at this point, since
 I've heard armv7 is similarly broken.

 I can confirm that booting the vax install media in simh works
 before this commit:

   2019.03.28.15.45.23 christos src/share/mk/bsd.own.mk 1.1119

 and fails with "init died" after it.
