NetBSD armv7 9.0 NetBSD 9.0 (GENERIC) #2: Mon Mar 23 15:25:33 EDT 2020 root@armv7:/usr/obj/sys/arch/evbarm/compile/GENERIC evbarm
>Description:
Since the final release of NetBSD 9.0, I have not been able to boot from it on my Odroid-HC1. However, I can boot from RC1, and have been able to compile the RC2 kernel and boot from it.
I have tried narrowing down where the problem lies and think that I've found it. In particular, if I substitute /usr/src/sys/arch/evbarm/fdt/fdt_machdep.c from the RC2 source files to the final release source files and recompile the kernel, the system will boot.
I have not yet extensively tested this modified release kernel, but will continue to do so. However, I thought that you should know about this ASAP.
Be well. Take care of yourself in this difficult time.
John Bowers

State-Changed-Why:
Please try a recent netbsd-9 build

A pullup was added to workaround the A7 cluster bringup which has
become a problem again

Thanks for this.
Please pardon this noobie response. I wasn't able to try the link that you sent me because I'm unclear about how to load the software onto the SD card. Documentation is simply lacking, or not findable.
However, I was able to copy the current image (NetBSD-evbarm-earmv7hf-202003232120Z-odroid-xu3.img.gz) that I could flash to the SD card from https://www.armbsd.org/arm/. This is to confirm that it boots properly on my Odroid-HC1.
I have not tried anything else so far.

The Odroid-XU4 build on
http://www.invisible.ca/arm/
should work I think

Nick,
This is to let you know that, at least as the Odroid-HC1 is concerned, the contents of the //www.armbsd.org/arm/ and //www.invisible.ca/arm/ are identical.
I don't know if I should post this in a new bug report, but the NetBSD-evbarm-earmv7hf-202003240450Z-odroid-xu3.img.gz release only finds 5 of the 8 CPU's of the HC1. But, I can build kernels on it. Unfortunately, the latest stable kernel (downloaded by CVS) also only finds 5 of the 8 CPU's.
I'm trying to get ZFS working, so right now I'm not interested in using a current release.
Thanks.
John
