I was trying to install NetBSD on my machine, and when choosing install target i accidentally chosen sd0 disk that was on top of list. Because my hard drive and pendrive were similar in capacity i thought that sd0 was my hard drive. In reality it was my pendrive and i just erased NetBSD install medium from it
>How-To-Repeat:
1. Put NetBSD install img on a big pendrive
2. Boot it on machine will small hard drive
3. Get confused whether hard drive is sd0 or wd0
4. Format pendrive
>Fix:
Maybe a warning that would warn the user if they are installing onto medium that NetBSD setup has booted from?
Or maybe hide medium that setup has booted from when selecting target hard drive?

Unfortunately this is (a) not straight forward to implement and (b) sometimes
wrong, as we often want to allow this (e.g. with ramdisk like setups or
when there is additional space on the boot drive and the user wants to
install into that).
Overall I'm not sure this is worth a change. Install target selection should
be done very carefully, as it could be quite destructive - and nuking the
install medium is the least bad destruction I can imagine here.
