Description:
I have used firefox on NetBSD many times to watch videos on
Invidious and recently it has stopped working. I am unsure as to
when this issue started as it has been a couple months since I've
watched a video there. When I attempt to watch a video, an error
will show at the top of firefox that reads: "To play video, you may
need to install the require video codecs." Also, if I go to the
plugins (typing about:addons in address bar) it shows that the
OpenH264 Video Codec is enabled but (in yellow) it reads: "OpenH264
Video Codec provided by Cisco Systems, Inc. will be installed
shortly." However, nothing is installed ever.
I've attempted to install multimedia/openh264 but no dice. I'm not
entirely sure but it may related to webrtc as OpenH264 has something
to do with it.
How-To-Repeat:
Go to any Invidious instance and attempt to watch a video using the
a current www/firefox build. https://vid.puffyan.us/ is the one I
use most often.
