>Description:
Ghostscript (10.x version - AGPL) dies with bus error on sparc. In the recent past I have also tried ghostscript-gpl (9.x version) and it seemed to work okay. I should also note that I am trying this to display to the "x11" device - i.e.. display output in an X window.

Interestingly - it seems to work okay on my QEMU setup. It's giving bus error on my real hardware (SS10 with TGX+ FB).

I have also opened a bug upstream already:

https://bugs.ghostscript.com/show_bug.cgi?id=707915

gdb says this:

Starting program: /usr/pkg/bin/gs -sDEVICE=x11 golfer.eps

Program received signal SIGILL, Illegal instruction.
0xeb0762b4 in _sparcv9_vis1_probe () from /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.15

So something is looking for sparcv9/64-bit VIS (visual instruction set) ? Maybe this somehow works in QEMU hence gs working there ?

I also have a ktruss output here:

https://burn.net/gs.ktruss.txt

gs -sDEVICE=x11 file.ps
