Architecture: x86_64
Machine: amd64
>Description:
From IRC conversation related to port-i386/58952:

i386/amd64 bootxx code should use the MI (EFI) stuff and their additional
features should be merged there (in ``libsa''?). Every time a new feature
is added to the x86 bootloader it makes it harder to merge the two. Other
ports such as arm, aarch64, and riscv would greatly benefit from a merge.
