The ports pages pages at
https://wiki.netbsd.org/ports/i386/
https://wiki.netbsd.org/ports/amd64/
and the INSTALL notes they link to suggest that CD-ROMs work as installation media, but the installation images have been larger than fit on any CD-ROMs in a while and we seem to have decided that it's acceptable to restrict the media to larger DVDs. But I don't know where that's written down and it's not obvious from the `NetBSD/i386 10.1 ISO' link.
>How-To-Repeat:
Try to install NetBSD/i386 10.1 via optical media of around 700 MiB without realizing it doesn't fit in a CD, only in a DVD.

I did a lot of work in -current to make the ISO fit on a CD again,
some of it was backported, but not all of it (e.g. new sets).
i386 is supposed(tm) to fit on a CD, the ISO here seems
below 700 MB?
