Do you have a serial console on that device?
Any other option to save the output of the "dmesg" command and post
it here?
Does that hardware have other USB ports that you could try or maybe you
could try a USB 2 Hub and connect the USB stick to that HUB?

If the error comes from ld0, the installation goes to the "disk",
which is either a UFS card (no idea how that works) or a regular
SD card. Then we probably lack a quirk for the controller.
There are instructions to add a M.2 SATA (not NVME) card as an
internal disk. This might be an option.

How can I provide more information?

I can plug a USB 2 Hub and repeat the installation to capture the "dmesg".
But I don't know how to do it. Is there any documentation I can follow?

The Samsung Flash NP530XBB has 64 GB e.MMC as a hard drive, maybe that
is useful information?

Unfortunately, I have no budget for hardware modifications.
I would like to install NetBSD as it is, if possible.

Looks like the we cannot handle that controller yet. There are other
reports about systems that use the same device.

I was able to install FreeBSD on the same laptop. Is it possible to
port that controller to NetBSD?
If so, what are the high level steps or documentation one should follow?

For a start, report the dmesg output from FreeBSD.

Hello everyone,
With Chris=E2=80=99s help, I was able to capture the dmesg output from the =
laptop.
The driver is supported by NetBSD, but it seems to be running into
some tuning issues.
Next I will try flashing a new iso with SDHC_DEBUG and SMMC_DEBUG to
gather more useful information.
Follow the captured dmesg:
