Hello NetBSD developers,

I hope NetBSD sysinst can support CJK, Russian, and other non-Latin character languages, with appropriate font support to ensure correct display of these languages.

I would like to request support for providing a unified .po file for translations in NetBSD. This would allow contributors to maintain translations in one standard format.

In particular, I am willing to provide a Chinese translation for NetBSD, which could be included in the unified .po file. This would make it easier for Chinese-speaking users to use NetBSD and help maintain consistency across languages.

Suggestions&#65306;

Provide a unified .po file for all user-facing messages in NetBSD.

Allow contributors to submit translations for additional languages, including Chinese.

 There are several parts to this:

  - sysinst uses the locale as defined in the selected translation
    msg file, and those could use UTF-8 locales

  - some versions of sysinst are compiled in space-limited environments
    (crunched binaries) and in some of the wide character support is
    ommited from curses(3)

  - there is currently no support for CVJK in wscons(4)/wsdisplay(4)
