>Description:
Packages that depend on compat80-i386-8.0.tar.bz2 cannot build, as any distfile fetch fails. The file seems to be unavailable. This is "allegedly" also the case with the x86_64/amd64 version of the file.
>How-To-Repeat:
Try to build LMMS or Rust, with pkgsrc2025Q3

State-Changed-When: Thu, 12 Feb 2026 01:49:52 +0000
State-Changed-Why:
I don't think it's optimal to grab the 2020 sources, as they were from
a change set that was subsequently reverted with a warning about
symlinks causing unwanted deletions outside the pkg tree. The other way
to work around this would be to install the binary package instead,
which still exists, should it be needed. (It shouldn't be, AFAIK, for
rust i386 builds.)

This is actually a duplicate of an earlier PR, so I'm going to close
this one and add you as a watcher on the other one.

>Unformatted:
 	the file is at
 	https://cdn.netbsd.org/pub/pkgsrc/distfiles/LOCAL_PORTS/20200807/compat80-i386-8.0.tar.bz2
where the path including LOCAL_PORTS is MASTER_SITE_LOCAL
If you have set MASTER_SITE_LOCAL please try without.
 	Otherwise:
stopgap: download that to your distfiles dir, building
should then work. If downloading it from that path doesn't
work for you, the cdn has an issue and the same URL with
ftp instead of cdn should help.
Please report what you needed to do to get the distfile.
