System: NetBSD 6.99.3 NetBSD 6.99.3 (MODULAR) #149: Mon Feb 27 16:07:37 CET 2012 sparc64
Architecture: sparc64
Machine: sparc64

With a NFS mounted /usr/src (server: NetBSD 5.1) I see random messages like:

{standard input}: Assembler messages:
{standard input}: Fatal error: can't close ah.o: Stale NFS file handle

while trying to build a kernel. This is new, server is unchanged, only the
local kernel has been updated two weeks ago.

Dunno, happens "sometimes".

It seems I had turned on tcp4csum-tx on the gem0 interface (and I am
using NFS with option -T). Turning that off again, seems to fix the

So looks more like a gem driver bug. Hardware is:

gem0 at pci0 dev 5 function 1: Sun Microsystems ERI Ethernet (rev. 0x01)
 gem0: interrupting at ivec 321d
 ukphy0 at gem0 phy 1: OUI 0x0006b8, model 0x000c, rev. 1
 ukphy0: 10baseT, 10baseT-FDX, 100baseTX, 100baseTX-FDX, auto
gem0: Ethernet address 00:03:ba:12:67:05, 2KB RX fifo, 2KB TX fifo

Ifconfig output (now again without tcp4csum-tx):

         address: 00:03:ba:12:67:05
         media: Ethernet autoselect (100baseTX full-duplex)
         status: active
         inet netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast
         inet6 fe80::203:baff:fe12:6705%gem0 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x1
