System: NetBSD last-of-the-heroes.duskware.de 11.99.9 NetBSD 11.99.9 (GENERIC) #418: Tue Oct 20 09:37:30 CEST 2026 martin@seven-days-to-the-wolves.aprisoft.de:/work/src/sys/arch/landisk/compile/GENERIC landisk
Architecture: sh3el
Machine: landisk
>Description:
I updated several machines from -current as of last week to -current as of
today (before and after the root cert changes).
After updating the sets, I ran postinstall check.
As expected it asked me to run
postinstall ... fix opensslcertsrehash obsolete
and I did that. Out of curiosity I ran
postinstall ... check opensslcertsrehash
again and it asked again for a fix, so I did:
postinstall ... fix opensslcertsrehash
and then again ran "check" - this time all was fine.
On one of the machines I stoped after the first fix and /etc/openssl/certs
was completely empty.
On the last machine I tried to run the "fix obsolete" part first,
and then the "fix opensslcertsrehash", which went fine and didn't need
any further rehash or fix steps.

Date: Wed, 28 Oct 2026 18:06:50 +0000
Module Name: src
Committed By: riastradh
Date: Wed Oct 28 18:06:50 UTC 2026
Modified Files:
src/usr.sbin/postinstall: postinstall.in
Log Message:
postinstall(8): Do obsolete _then_ opensslcertsrehash.
Otherwise any certificates removed by an update will remain in
/etc/openssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt, which is very bad!
